BRAZIL WORLD CUP BETTING TIPS
Let’s face it, for historical reasons, if nothing else, Brazil are always going to be one of the favourites to win the 2010 World Cup Final. However, to my mind, in the qualification and friendly matches I’ve seen, this isn’t the expansive, free flowing Brazilian football of yore.
For the most part, maverick, wayward talents like Ronaldinho and Adriano have been cast aside and, under coach Dunga, there is a new emphasis on defending that has meant that the coach has not always been the most popular among Brazilian supporters.
That doesn’t mean that Brazil shouldn’t be among the favourites – they should. It’s just a more practical form of football than maybe the watching world is used to.
They still have the quality – Fabiano upfront, Cesar in goal, Alves and Maicon in defence, Kaka in midfield; Brazil are definitely not lacking in top class talent. It’s just that, for my money, they look like a side that could come undone against a team that is well prepared and with a good game plan.
Personally, I don’t see Dunga as a world cup winning coach – he seems to lack that edge and experience that would do it for him. So, I would advise against betting on Brazil to win the World Cup 2010.
They should, however, be capable of reaching the semis and it is at this stage that they will go out.
