England v Algeria Preview

Midfielder Gareth Barry returns for Fabio Capello’s England against an Algeria side who have doubts over goalkeeper Faouzi Chaouchi, who picked up a knee injury in training.

Chaouchi had a poor opening match against Slovenia, but manager Rabah Saadane will keep faith with the player if fit.

Returning for Algeria is Wolfsburg midfielder Karim Ziani, but definitely out is Abdelkader Ghezzal, who is suspended after being sent off in the opening match.

England boss Fabio Capello has recalled Portsmouth ‘keeper David James to the starting line-up after Robert Green’s error against USA cost England the win.

Capello’s starting XI will have a more familiar look about it, with Steven Gerrard starting out on the left and Aaron Lennon providing the width on the right.

Strikers Wayne Rooney and Emile Heskey will again start upfront for England.
