Despite England’s poor result against the USA, there was a 20 minute period when they looked pretty good.

With David James returning to goal and Gareth Barry back in midfield, the England team will be more comfortable with their roles and, let’s face it, Algeria are really not very good.

Particularly poor is goalkeeper Faouzi Chaouchi and I expect England midfielders Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard to test Chaouchi’s from distance.

Algeria don’t have much cutting edge and their full backs are not strong defensively, so Aaron Lennon and Steven Gerrard will get a lot of joy down the flanks. I expect goals in this match with one or other of Gerrard and Lampard getting on the scoresheet.
