Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac is set to name the same starting eleven that were victorious in their opening match against Serbia.

Tim Cahill is suspended for this match against a Ghana side who look certain to be unchanged from the one that won their opening Group game 1-0.

Cahill will return for Australia’s final group game, but his absence and the absence of fellow midfielder Vince Grella is sure to force manager Pim Verbeek to change the slightly strange formation he choose for Australia’s match against Germany.

Verbeek played with no true strikers and relied on Cahill and Hull City midfielder Richard Garcia to attack. With Cahill out, likely to be replaced by Mark Bresciano, Verbeek will revert to a 4-5-1 formation with Josh Kennedy coming in as striker.

Garcia is also set to make way as Harry Kewell is fit again and set to start in midfield.

Milovan Rajevac, the Ghana coach, will keep faith with the starting XI that beat Serbia 1-0 in their opening match. This means starts for a number of names well known to UK football fans, including Portsmouth midfielder Kevin Prince-Boateng, Inter’s Sulley Muntari and defensive duo John Pantsil and John Mensah.

AUSTRALIA TO WIN 2010 WORLD CUP : 200.00 at Bet24 – Bet Or Register Now

AUSTRALIA TO WIN GROUP D : 10.0 at Bet24 – Bet or Register Now

AUSTRALIA WORLD CUP BETTING TIPS

I’ll start this by saying that I think there’s some value to be had by backing Australia in Group D. Their fellow Group D teams are: Germany, Serbia and Ghana and, for reasons best known to the bookmakers, are favourites to go out at the first hurdle.

While not managed by the crafty Guus Hiddink this time around, Australia do still have some quality players. The likes of Tim Cahill, Mark Schwarzer, Lucas Neill and Vince Grella are a good spine for any team.

Admittedly, what Australia do lack is a top quality goalscorer – none of their strikers has much pedigree, but Tim Cahill is more than capable of filling this particular hole. He’s done it many, many times for Everton.

Personally, I think Ghana are overrated and Serbia don’t really have the quality, so I’ll take Australia to qualify from Group D alongside Germany. I just think that they’ve got players more capable of high level performance in a cup competition.

Best Australia World Cup Tip: Australia to qualify from Group D.

Best Odds: 3.25 at Bet24 – Click To Bet Or Open Account
