Japan manager Takeshi Okada has only player rated doubtful ahead of this crunch match with Denmark.

Defender Yasuyuki Konno has a slight niggle and could miss out.

Okada looks set to stick with the 4-1-4-1 formation with midfielder Keisuke Honda again performing the lone striker’s role.

Denmark will bring former Liverpool defender Per Kroldrup in to replace the suspended Simon Kjaer.

Despite a groin problem, Nicklas Bendtner looks set to start upfront alongside veteran Jon Dahl Tomasson. Missing out, however, is midfielder Daniel Jensen who has an achilles problem. He will be replaced by Martin Jorgensen.

Cameroon boss Paul Le Guen may shake up his starting line up after a poor display in their opening match to Japan.

Cameroon boss Paul Le Guen is set to make a number of changes to his starting eleven ahead of this match with Group E opponents Denmark.

Arsenal’s Alex Song, Geremi and Rigobert Song were all left out of Cameroon’s defeat at the hands of Japan. However, all three are expected to return for the game against Morten Olsen’s Denmark side. Joel Matip will make way for Alexandre Song in midfield.

Similarly, having played striker Samuel Eto’o on the right against Japan, Le Guen is likely to bring the Inter Milan striker back into his favoured position as centre forward against Denmark.

Denmark coach Morten Olsen has a number of injury concerns among his squad, with strikers Jon Dahl Tomasson and Nicklas Bendtner both carrying knocks.

Also facing late fitness tests are defender Simon Kjaer (knee) and midfielder Daniel Jensen (Achilles), although Olsen is hopeful all will be fit enough to be considered for this match.

Dutch winger Arjen Robben is missing for Holland, while Denmark veteran Jon Dahl Tomasson is rated doubtful.

Denmark coach Morten Olsen revealed that striker Tomasson and midfielder Daniel Jensen have been training separately from the rest of the squad and are unlikely to be risked in the match against the Netherlands.

Also doubtful is centre half Simon Kjaer, who has a knee injury, but is likely to feature against Japan and Cameroon.

Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk will bring Rafael van der Vart in to replace Robben on the left of midfield.

Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie will lead the line for Holland, as the player has recovered well from long standing injury problems.

Mark_S doesn't think Denmark are going to make much headway at the World Cup Finals and is rather sniffy about Dennis Rommedahl and Jesper Gronkjaer too.

DENMARK WORLD CUP BETTING TIPS

Denmark qualified top for the 2010 World Cup Finals from a group including Portugal, Hungary and North European rivals Sweden. On the surface, this is a fairly impressive performance. But dig a little deeper and you’ll see that Portugal spent most of the qualifying campaign shooting themselves in the foot. Meanwhile, Albania, of all countries, contrived to take points of Sweden, Portugal and Denmark.

This isn’t to diminish the achievement of the Danes, more to put it into context.

At the Finals itself, Denmark find themselves in a Group alongside Holland, Cameroon and Japan. The bookies have them as second favourites for the Group, which has surprised me somewhat.

A quick look at their squad suggests that many of their players (Rommedahl, Gronkjaer, Jon Dahl Tomasson) are well over thirty and are past their best. Granted, Tomasson still scores goals, but he’s playing in the Dutch league, not La Liga.

They do have one or two players that could do well. Christian Paulsen and Ajax’s young midfielder Christian Eriksen both look quality, but I don’t think they have enough to trouble either Holland or the Cameroon. And with wingers like Rommendahl and Gronkjaer, there’s no guarantee of any quality balls into the box – not for nothing was Gronkjaer nicknamed ‘Dracula’ at Chelsea, such was his fear of crosses.
